MMR VACCINE - Your Protection Against MEASLES MUMPS & RUBELLA

It is of great concern that measles cases have soared across the country amid an increase in unvaccinated children. There were 1,603 suspected cases of measles in England and Wales in 2023 compared with 735 cases in 2022 and just 360 the year before.

There is no better time to consider the protection the MMR vaccine can bring.  The MMR vaccine is a safe and effective combined vaccine.  It protects against three serious illnesses: MEASLES, MUMPS & RUBELLA.

These highly infectious conditions can easily spread between unvaccinated people so getting vaccinated is important, as these conditions can also lead to serious problems including meningitis, hearing loss and problems during pregnancy.

MMR vaccination advice is readily available from your surgery.
