We also offer extended hours appointments between 18:30 – 20:00 on certain days and occasional Saturdays.

When the practice is closed, for urgent advice, you can still telephone 01827 281000. Your call will be diverted free of charge to our out of hours service.

NHS 111 can be contacted 24 hours a day on 111.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.  

We are closed from 1pm one Tuesday afternoon a month for staff training as follows:

• Tuesday 25th November 2025
• No training December 2025
• No training January 2026
• Tuesday 3rd February 2026
• Tuesday 24th February 2026
• Tuesday 17th March 2026

No information on public transport to the practice. Arriva buses run throughout the Tamworth area. Local services are Wilnecote number 8, Stonydelph number 7 and 65 from main B5000, Glascote number 4 and 65.

Wilnecote Surgery is within walking distance from Wilnecote train station. From Tamworth station patients would need to use the 65 from Corporation Street in Tamworth town centre.

• Treat yourself at home
• Go to a Primary Care Centre

If you need face to face medical attention you may be asked to attend a Primary Care Centre.
